Chlorpheniramine maleate
Inactive Ingredients
Corn starch, D&C Yellow No 10 aluminum lake, anhydrous lactose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose.
Usage
Chlorpheniramine should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
Side effects may include stomach upset, such as diarrhea, vomiting and lack of appetite. Your pet may appear drowsy. This effect may decrease with time. Your pet may experience dry mouth and retain its urine for longer than usual. Notify your veterinarian if these effects are troublesome and continue.
Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following drugs can potentially interact with chlorpheniramine maleate: phenytoin, heparin, warfarin and other CNS depressants. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. 
Cautions
This medication does not have an FDA approved indication for use in animals, but it is a common and acceptable practice for veterinarians to prescribe this human medication for use in animals.
Use caution in animals with glaucoma, enlarged prostate, severe cardiac disease, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, bladder obstruction, obstruction of the pylorus, pregnant and lactating animals.
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.

Storage
Store at 77°F in controlled room temperature, excursions permitted between 59° to 86°F. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
