Meet Our Store Cats: The Real Bosses of Feeder’s Pet Supply
Feb 24th 2025
If you’ve ever stepped foot into a Feeder’s Pet Supply, you’ve probably noticed a few things: an amazing selection of pet products, friendly associates ready to help, and… a cat? That’s right! Many of our locations have a resident feline in charge—overseeing daily operations, greeting customers, and, of course, demanding the proper amount of treats and attention.
Let’s introduce you to our purr-fessional staff:
Charlie – Hikes Point
Charlie is Feeder’s most distinguished shopping assistant. He loves hopping into carts and being chauffeured around the store like the VIP (Very Important Paws) that he is. He makes friends with absolutely everyone—humans, dogs, other cats, and even birds. But don’t even think about ignoring him… unless you enjoy being scolded in fluent cat yells!
Adopted from: Catheads Kitty Rescue. The team took a vote and decided on Charlie!
Preston – Preston Hwy
A true social butterfly, Preston is all about love, scratches, and—most importantly—fishy treats. If you don’t see him in his cat tree, check any available soft, cozy bed, because Preston knows how to nap in style.
Scruffy – Spring Hurst
Scruffy is a large, lazy, and lovable guy with a devoted fan base of customers. When he’s not demanding belly rubs, he enjoys playing with packing paper (the simple joys in life!) and keeping a watchful eye over his domain. Once a stray, Scruffy found his forever home with us—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Queenie – Mt Pleasant, MI
With a name like Queenie, you know she runs the show. She struts through the store with purpose, making sure everything (and everyone) is in order. She’s also an expert in selecting the finest bulk cat toys—because a queen deserves the best. Originally named Baby Girl, Queenie was brought in by GAIN Animal Rescue, and it didn’t take long for the employees to fall in love with her. They insisted she stay—and now she rules her kingdom with a fluffy, iron paw.
Adopted from: GAIN Animal Rescue
Handsome – Valley Station
Handsome takes his job as Employee Supervisor very seriously. He’ll follow the team around to make sure they’re on task, watching from the end of the aisle or perching on the register as if he’s about to ring up a sale. Don’t be fooled, though—his real talent is convincing employees he needs wet food every hour. Handsome was adopted fromKentucky Humane Societyon Valentine’s Day in 2020 and has been stealing hearts ever since.
Harrison – Holiday Manor
Harrison is the master of disguise at Feeder’s Pet Supply. He can usually be found lounging in a dog bed, perched high in a cat tree, or—his personal favorite—riding in customers’ carts like a VIP. Customers have turned shopping into a game of "Where’s Waldo? (Harrison Edition),” often refusing to check out until they find him. And let’s just say, he’s a pro at hiding. So much so that employees have resorted to using his Apple AirTag just to track him down! When he’s not winning hide-and-seek, he’s sneaking outside a million times a day—because a cat’s gotta explore.
JB – Pewee Valley
JB is the king of Feeder’s Pet Supply, and he knows it. He spends his days testing out cat beds (you know, for quality control), taste-testing food, and convincing customers he absolutely needs more treats—despite his impressive 22-pound physique. He has a soft spot for kittens, giving them baths and showing them the ropes, and he enjoys daily bird-watching excursions (supervised, of course). Before JB found his throne at Feeder’s, he was a regular at a local Home Depot!
Adopted from: Catheads Kitty Rescue
Captain Marvel – Richmond Road
Captain Marvel is a superhero in his own right—especially when it comes to finding the coziest bed in the store. He loves other cats, sneaking into bags of food, and pulling the ultimate trick: offering up his belly for pets, only to immediately attack when you fall for it. He may be a little chunky, but that’s just extra superhero strength. Captain Marvel was a stray before being rescued by Paws 4 the Cause, and he proudly wears his tipped ear as a badge of honor.
Momma – Frankfort
Momma is a supervisor, quality control expert, and pest control specialist all in one. She spends her days lounging atop the feeder mice bin (for science), testing out every single cat tower (also for science), and perfecting her morning zoomies routine. And don’t let her fool you—she’s mastered the art of scamming employees for extra treats. Momma was adopted from the Franklin County Humane Society and immediately took charge.
Lorna – Shelbyville
Lorna is the real boss of the store, and she takes her managerial duties seriously. She’s not the biggest fan of dogs, but she’d happily befriend a gerbil or two. Originally in our adoption center, she quickly wormed her way into the hearts of the staff—who knew she belonged with us permanently.
