Conzol Lotion, 1% (miconazole nitrate) is a synthetic antifungal agent for use on dogs and cats and is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections caused by Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum, and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.

Usage

Conzol Lotion should be applied topically as directed by your veterinarian. Wash your hands thoroughly after application. Please consult your veterinarian before making any changes or discontinuing the prescribed dosing schedule.
General hygienic measures should be taken to control sources of infection or potential reinfection. Clip the hair around and over the sites of infection at the start of treatment and repeat as necessary.
Manufacturer Dosage and Administration:
Apply a light covering of Conzol Lotion, 1% (miconazole nitrate) to affected areas, once daily, for 2 to 4 weeks. Application is best accomplished using a gauze pad or cotton swab.
Medication must be continued until the infecting organism is completely eradicated as indicated by appropriate clinical or laboratory examination. If no improvement is noticed within 2 weeks, diagnosis should be re-evaluated. Difficult cases may require treatment for 6 weeks.
Missed doses
Administer the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not apply more medication than prescribed or two doses at once.

Storage
Store upright in a cool, dry place at a controlled room temperature between 59°-86°F. Keep in a secure location out of the reach of children and pets. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use.
Exposure to extreme temperatures, light, or moisture can affect the integrity and effectiveness of medications. Always store medications properly (e.g., away from the bathroom, kitchen sink, or other damp places).
Side effects
This medication is generally well tolerated, and side effects are considered uncommon. In the event of sensitization or irritation due to Conzol Lotion, treatment should be discontinued.

Precautions
Before using this product, please review the product label and full Prescribing Information for important safety information, including any relevant warnings and precautions.
For external (topical) use on dogs and cats only. Not for use in humans. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Avoid contact with eyes, since irritation may result.
Wash hands thoroughly after administration to avoid the spread of fungal infection.
Use with caution on burned, ulcerated, or otherwise damaged skin areas, as unintentional systemic exposure can occur. Do not allow your pet to lick or groom any treated area(s) for at least 20 to 30 minutes after application.
Do not administer this medication to animals with a known or suspected allergy/hypersensitivity to it or any of its ingredients. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Please inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known sensitivities or allergies, especially to medications and supplements.
If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; and widespread hives or itching.
Drug and food interactions
There are no documented drug or food interactions with this medication; however, potential interactions may still be possible. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when multiple medications and/or supplements are given together.
As with all medications, please consult your veterinarian if you have any questions or concerns prior to use. Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications, supplements, and over-the-counter (OTC) products that your pet is currently using. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosages or monitor your pet more closely.
