Manufacturer Dosage and Administration:
CREDELIO CAT is given orally once a month, at the minimum dosage of 2.7 mg/lb (6 mg/kg).

All owners have different comfort levels with their cat when it comes to administering medication. There are three basic ways to administer Credelio Cat:
1) Offer by hand or place in area where your cat feels comfortable eating. Many cats will eat the chewable by free choice. Tempting with treats can also help.
2) Offer with food during a meal. If your cat is a grazer, try placing it around a few pieces of kibble or covered in wet food and checking to make sure it has been consumed out of the bowl.
3) Place the chewable on the back of your cat’s tongue. The chewables were designed to be very small and easy to administer in these situations. It is important to always administer Credelio Cat with a meal or 30 minutes after feeding.

Treatment with CREDELIO CAT can begin at any time of the year and can continue year-round without interruption.

Missed doses
Treatment should be administered monthly. If a dose is missed, administer Credelio Cat with food immediately and resume a monthly dosing schedule from that date on.
If you have questions or concerns about fleas and ticks due to the late/missed dose, please consult your veterinarian.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at a controlled room temperature (59 to 77°F, excursions permitted between 41 to 104°F). Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Tablets should remain sealed in their original packaging and should only be taken out of the blister pack at the time of dosing. Store away from heat and direct sunlight.
Do not store in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.

Side effects
Credelio CAT is generally well tolerated; side effects are typically mild and infrequent when given at the recommended dosage. The most common side effects of this medication are weight loss, rapid breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, and elevated blood urea nitrogen (BUN).

Contact your veterinarian immediately if your pet experiences persistent vomiting, complete loss of appetite, seizures, tremors, extreme weakness, or decreased coordination (e.g., stumbling, difficulty walking).

Notify your veterinarian if your pet experiences any of the effects described above, or if you notice any other side effects that are persistent or troublesome.
If you notice anything unusual, please consult your veterinarian.

Precautions
*For complete product information including warnings and precautions, please refer to the manufacturer package insert.

For oral use in cats only- not for human use. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. Keep CREDELIO CAT in a secure location out of reach of dogs, cats, and other animals to prevent accidental ingestion or overdose.

Lotilaner is a member of the isoxazoline class. This class has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Neurologic adverse reactions have been reported in cats receiving isoxazoline class drugs, even in cats without a history of neurologic disorders. Use with caution in cats with a history of neurologic disorders.
The safety of CREDELIO CAT has not been established in breeding, pregnant, and lactating cats. Discuss the risks of using this medication with your veterinarian if your pet is in one of these groups.
The effectiveness of CREDELIO CAT against Ixodes scapularis in kittens less than 6 months of age has not been evaluated.

Do not administer to animals with a known history or suspected allergy/hypersensitivity to any isoxazoline class drug, including this medication or any of its ingredients. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies.
If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; and widespread hives or itching.

Drug and food interactions
There are no documented drug or food interactions with Credelio CAT.
Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications and supplements that your pet is currently receiving. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosages or monitor your pet more closely.

If you are concerned that your pet has experienced an adverse reaction to this medication, please contact the manufacturer Elanco US at 1-888-545-5973 or Vetsource Pet Owner Care at 877-738-4443.
