Usage
Flexprofen® Flavored Tablets should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian.
Your veterinarian may require bloodwork/laboratory monitoring prior to starting, then periodically while taking this medication. Do not miss any follow-up visits.

Missed Doses
Administer the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.
Side Effects
Side effects are generally uncommon for dogs taking this medication. Reported side effects include (but are not limited to): mild GI upset (vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite) and lethargy.
Additional side effects that have been reported include behavioral changes (e.g., aggression), black/tarry stools, restlessness, dermatitis, and skin lesions.
Notify your veterinarian if the effects described above or any other side effects appear and become persistent or troublesome.
Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following medications may have potential interactions with this medication (but may not be a comprehensive list): oral anticoagulants, clopidogrel, corticosteroids (e.g., dexamethasone, prednis(ol)one), cyclosporine, concurrent NSAIDs, SSRI antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine), toceranib (Palladia), and tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline, clomipramine).
Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications and supplements that your pet is currently receiving. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosage(s) or monitor your pet more closely.

Concomitant use of carprofen with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids should be avoided due to increased risk of adverse reactions, especially gastrointestinal ulceration or perforation.
Safety has not been established in and cannot be recommended for use in dogs with bleeding disorders.
The safe use of Flexprofen in animals less than 6 weeks of age or those who are pregnant, breeding, or lactating has not been established.
Do not administer to animals with known history or suspected allergy/hypersensitivity to this medication or any of its ingredients. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies.
If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways, difficulty breathing, agitation, profuse salivation, and widespread hives or itching.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at a controlled room temperature (68 to 77°F, excursions permitted between 59 and 86°F). Keep the container tightly sealed and out of the reach of children and pets. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medication in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
