Usage
PancreVed® Powder should be administered as directed by your veterinarian. To avoid irritation of the mouth, avoid inhaling the medication while administering it to your pet.
Dose is administered before each meal. Dose is estimated by your veterinarian according to the severity of the condition and weight of the animal. PancreVed® Powder is added to moistened food (canned or dry). Thorough mixing is necessary to bring the enzymes into close contact with the food particles. After mixing, let stand at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
Average Dose per meal
Dogs: 3/4 to 1 tsp per meal (2.8 g/tsp)
Cats: 1/4 to 3/4 tsp per meal
Keep container tightly closed when not in use.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
Possible side effects are generally rare. Notify your veterinarian if your pet experiences excessive diarrhea, prolonged constipation, or other changes in bowel function or appetite.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following drugs can potentially interact with PancreVed® Powder: calcium and magnesium containing antacids, cimetidine, and famotidine. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication or supplements you are giving to your pet or if your pet is allergic to pork. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. 
Cautions
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
