Usage
Tylan® Soluble Powder should be administered as directed by veterinarian. Powder is very bitter; it may be better administered by placing the powder into an empty gelatin capsule or cold butter. It can also be compounded into a liquid. Discuss administration options with your veterinarian.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
Your pet may experience lack of appetite and vomiting and diarrhea may occur. If stomach upset occurs, try giving the medication with food.
If symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting and lack of appetite persist, contact your veterinarian. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
Drug interactions have not been well established with Tylan®. The following drugs can potentially interact with Tylan®: digoxin, azole antifungals, cisapride, chloramphenicol, clindamycin, lincomycin, diltiazem, verapamil, omeprazole, disopyramide, methylprednisolone, midazolam, alprazolam, triazolam, quinidine, sildenafil, tacrolimus, and theophylline. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.

The use of Tylan® in cats, dogs and small mammals is “off-label†which is common in veterinary medicine, follow your veterinarians directions very carefully as they may differ from the label on the product.
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; widespread hives and itching

Storage
Store at 68°F to 77°F in controlled room temperature. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
