Product Information
Product details
UltiCare VetRx U-100 Insulin Syringes (Half Unit Markings) are premium quality human-grade syringes, precision engineered with advanced technology to provide pets with a more comfortable injection.
Please note: This product only includes (U-100) insulin syringes—insulin and sharps disposal container are not included and must be purchased separately.
  • HALF-UNIT MARKINGS: Dose unit markings in half-unit increments for pets who require small or half-unit doses.
  • SILICONE LUBRICATION: A layer of microbonded lubrication is added to help the needle glide into the skin.
  • MICRO POLISHED: Each needle is polished to a smooth finish, removing any very small blemishes that could occur during the manufacturing process and cause painful skin tearing.
  • ACCURATE DOSING: Bold dose unit markings and large barrel flanges for accurate dosing and easy grip and control. FOR ANIMAL USE ONLY.
  • PREMIUM QUALITY HUMAN-GRADE SYRINGES: Each box contains 60 syringes designed for comfort and ease of use.

Your veterinarian will prescribe either U-40 or U-100 insulin for your pet. It is critical that you use the corresponding insulin syringe for proper dosing. While U-40 is often prescribed for cats and dogs, it’s important to know there are two types of insulin, and a proper corresponding syringe must be used for insulin injections. UltiCare VetRx U-40 insulin syringes have red needle caps, and UltiCare VetRx U-100 insulin syringes have orange needle caps.

Product sourced directly from the manufacturer or their approved distributor. Guaranteed genuine product backed by the manufacturer.

Usage
This product should be used to administer your pet’s prescribed U-100 insulin as directed by your veterinarian. Always follow your veterinarian’s instructions, which will be specific to both your pet and their medication*. Please consult your veterinarian before making any changes or discontinuing the prescribed dosing schedule.
*Please note: This product includes U-100 insulin syringes. Please ensure your pet’s medication is compatible with the ordered product.

For general injectable use (aseptic technique):
Aseptic technique refers to a set of practices designed to minimize the risk of contamination and infection during medical procedures. These practices can also be applied to the handling and administration of injectable medications to your pet to help reduce the risk of post-injection bacterial infections.
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after administration.
Use a new, sterile needle and syringe for each injection. Needles and syringes should never be reused.
Do not touch the needle, syringe tip, or vial stopper (once it has been wiped with alcohol) to any surface to avoid contamination.
Adequately clean and disinfect the vial stopper with an alcohol wipe, then allow it to dry before inserting the sterile needle/syringe.
Withdraw and administer the prescribed dose as directed by your veterinarian.
Dispose of the needle/syringe immediately after use into a proper sharps disposal container.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at a controlled room temperature. Unused product should be kept sealed in the original packaging whenever possible to maintain sterility and integrity. Keep in a secure location out of the reach of children and pets, away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight.
Exposure to extreme temperatures or moisture may affect the integrity and effectiveness of medications, supplements, and other products. Always store this product properly (e.g., away from the bathroom, kitchen sink, or other damp places).

Precautions
For animal use only. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
U-100 syringes are only compatible with U-100 insulins (e.g., Lantus, Novolin N). Using syringes that are not compatible with your pet’s medication can lead to incorrect dosing and serious adverse effects.

Always use a new, sterile needle and syringe for each injection. Reusing needles and/or syringes can result in incorrect dosage, contamination, and an increased risk of infection. Do not attempt to sterilize or reuse needles and syringes.

Inspect the needle and syringe before each use. Do NOT use if the needle and/or syringe appears compromised, tampered with, or otherwise unfit for use.
Do NOT attempt to recap needles after use; dispose of the needle/syringe immediately into a designated sharps container.

Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications, supplements, and over-the-counter (OTC) products that your pet is currently using. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when multiple medications and/or supplements are given together. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosages or monitor your pet more closely.

Allergic reactions to medications, supplements, and OTC products may occur. Please inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known sensitivities or allergies, especially to medications and supplements.
If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; and widespread hives or itching.
