Zeniquin® 50 mg Tablets: 13 mm, brown (beige), oval, film-coated tablet, scored in half, imprinted with 50/MG on one side and PFIZER on the other.. (NDC 54771-8488-02)

Zeniquin® 100 mg Tablets: 16 mm, brown (beige), oval, film-coated tablet, scored in half, imprinted with 100/MG on one side and PFIZER on the other. (NDC 54771-8490-01)

Zeniquin® 200 mg Tablets: 20 mm, brown (beige), oval, film-coated tablet, scored in half, imprinted with 200/MG on one side and PFIZER on the other. (NDC 54771-8494-01)

Marbofloxacin

Zeniquin® should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. Give this medication for as long as prescribed by your veterinarian, even if it appears the pet is feeling better. This will help to ensure the infection is completely cleared.

Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.

Common side effects may include cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. If these or other symptoms appear and become troublesome, contact your veterinarian.

Animals with thin or no hair coat may experience sun sensitivity within a few hours of receiving a dose.

Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

This medication is best without food/on an empty stomach. A small amount of food or a treat can be given to help if your pet vomits after receiving a dose. Contact your veterinarian if GI issues persist.

Do not give this product within at least 2 hours before, and 4 hours after feeding your pet dairy products (milk, cheese, etc). Do not give with any products containing calcium, iron, or aluminum.

The following drugs are the most common potential interactions with marbofloxacin, but is not a comprehensive list: aluminum-, calcium-, and magnesium-containing products and antacids; blood glucose lowering drugs (e.g., insulins, bexagliflozin, velagliflozin); corticosteroids, cyclosporine, iron, NSAIDs, probenecid, sucralfate, and theophylline. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

Ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications and supplements you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. 

Fluoroquinolones, including marbofloxacin, may cause arthropathy & erosion of cartilage in immature animals; do NOT administer to small & medium breed dogs up to 8 months of age, large breed dogs up to 12 months of age, giant breed dogs up to 18 months of age, or to cats under 12 months of age. Use with caution in animals that are pregnant.

Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Do NOT administer to animals with known history of hypersensitivity or allergy to fluoroquinolones.

Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.

Store below 86°F in controlled room temperature. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
