GentaCalm® Topical Spray

GentaCalm® is a topical spray indicated for the treatment of infected superficial lesions in dogs caused by bacteria susceptible to gentamicin. Betamethasone, a corticosteroid, provides anti-inflammatory and antipruritic activity.

Apply GentaCalm® topically to the affected area(s) as directed by your veterinarian.

Prior to treatment, remove excessive hair and clean the lesion/adjacent area. Hold the bottle upright 3 to 6 inches from the lesion and depress the sprayer head twice. Administer 2 to 4 times daily for 7 days.

Apply the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not apply two doses at once.

This product is well-tolerated when used appropriately. Side effects appear to be uncommon, but may include vomiting and diarrhea. Notify your veterinarian if side effects appear and remain troublesome.

Use of topical antibiotics may permit overgrowth of non-susceptible bacteria, fungi, or yeasts.

Administration of recommended dose beyond 7 days may result in delayed wound healing; animals treated for longer than 7 days should be monitored closely.

Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

There are no documented drug or food-related interactions with this product.

Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

Ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications and/or supplements you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.

Do not use on animals with known allergies or hypersensitivity to any product components.

Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies.

If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips/tongue/face/airways, difficulty breathing, agitation, profuse salivation, and widespread hives/itching.

Store product upright in a cool, dry place at controlled temperature between 36 and 86°F. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medication in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
