Product Information
Product details
KeraVet Gel is the first and only topical keratin-based hydrogel for dogs and cats that contains patent protected keratin technology and a powerful and safe effect bitterant. Together, they support better, faster healing and reduce licking.
  • Solves E-collar compliance challenges and reduces stress for pets and parents because wounds keep healing even if the cone comes off
  • Keratin supports better, faster healing
  • Hydrogel creates an ideal healing environment
  • Bitterant eliminates self-harming behavior
  • Tested to human safety standards and has an extremely safe toxicity profile, making it safe to reapply as needed to stop the lick
  • Easy to apply and pet-parent friendly
  • One product replaces multiple bottles, creams, ointments, and sprays

The keratin in KeraVet Gel provides a scaffold that mimics the extracellular matrix, facilitating cell attachment, proliferation, and migration—all of which are crucial for re-epithelialization. Clinical studies show that KeraVet Gel supports better, faster healing and stops licking behavior by up to 87% in dogs and cats. Available by prescription only.

Common veterinary uses include lick granulomas, hot spots, surgical incisions, various types of dermatitis, erythema, self-harming licking behavior, dehisced incisions, hard-to-close wounds, animal bites and more.

Product sourced directly from the manufacturer or their approved distributor. Guaranteed genuine product backed by the manufacturer.

Product strength & size
KeraVet Gel is available in a 7.5 mL tube. Please ensure the selected product is appropriate for your pet, as recommended by your veterinarian.
For current availability, please refer to the product selection above.

Usage
Please refer to the product label for additional information, including the manufacturer’s recommended Directions for Use.

Manufacturer suggested usage:
Apply as directed by your veterinarian. Prepare wound area to ensure wound is free of debris. The wound may be gently flushed with a mild cleanser, if needed. Inspect the KeraVet Gel tube to ensure that it is not damaged and is not past its expiration date. Remove the internal seal on the KeraVet Gel tube if opening the tube for the first time. Apply KeraVet Gel to form a thin layer over the wound surface and edges of normal adjoining skin. Ensure the entire wound surface is covered with the hydrogel. After application, a non-adherent, occlusive secondary dressing may be applied to maintain a moist environment and prevent removal of the hydrogel. Apply KeraVet Gel every 4 to 6 hours to manage the wound and reduce licking as needed. If licking behavior persists, administer additional applications of KeraVet Gel. If wound appearance does not improve within 7 days, consult a veterinary practitioner. If a secondary dressing is used, it may be changed every 1 to 3 days, or as directed by a veterinary practitioner. When changing the dressing, lightly flush the wound bed with a gentle cleanser as determined by the veterinary practitioner and then apply KeraVet Gel by fully covering the wound.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at a controlled room temperature (59 to 86°F). Keep in a secure location out of the reach of children and pets, away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not use contents of KeraVet Gel if the tube appears damaged or is past the expiration date.
Exposure to extreme temperatures or moisture may affect the integrity and effectiveness of medications, supplements, and other products. Always store this product properly (e.g., away from the bathroom, kitchen sink, or other damp places).

Side effects
There are no documented side effects reported for this product.
Please discontinue use and consult your veterinarian if your pet experiences any persistent or troublesome side effects, or if you notice anything unusual.
