Potassium Citrate ER 10 mEq (1080 mg) Tablets 100 ct: 18 mm, yellow (off-white to tan yellowish), capsule shaped tablet, not scored, imprinted with T400. (Manufacturer Camber Pharmaceuticals: NDC 31722-0130-01)

Usage
Potassium Citrate tablets should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. The tablets should be swallowed whole and should not be crushed and the pet is to not be allowed to chew the tablets. Try to give this medication at about the same time each day. Make sure your pet has free access to water.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
Possible side effects may include muscular weakness, stomach disturbances, heart disturbances. Notify your veterinarian if side effects are noted and they are troublesome.
Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following drugs can potentially interact with potassium citrate: angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, spironolactone, digitalis, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, anticholinergic agents, glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids, cyclosporine, and ACTH. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.
Cautions
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
