Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as you remember, unless it is time for the next dose. Do not double dose. If your pet has missed a dose please consult your veterinarian with concerns.
Side Effects
Possible side effects may include tearing, redness, blurring of vision, and itching which may result in your pet rubbing their eyes. Notify your vet if any of the following occur during treatment: vomiting, diarrhea, increased salivation, increased urination, coughing, and/or muscle weakness. These effects may be seen at higher than normal doses. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
Inform your veterinarian prior to use of this medication what other medication you are giving to your pet, including but not limited to other eye drops and/or eye medications. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Cautions
Pilocarpine may cause decreased vision in poor light. Do not use this medication if the color changes, if it becomes cloudy, or if there are particles in the solution.
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic.
