Active IngredientAtropine sulfateInactive IngredientsBenzalkonium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate (unspecified form), edetate disodium, hypromellose 2910 (4000 MPA.S), monobasic sodium phosphate (unspecified form), hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, water.UsageAtropine ophthalmic solution should be instilled as directed by your veterinarian. Administer the prescribed dose by pulling down on the bottom lid of your pet’s eye and applying the prescribed number of drop(s) of solution directly onto the eye. Be careful to avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface including the eyes or hands, as this may contaminate the sterile surface. Wash hands before and after application. If using with other eye drops or ointments, separate dosing by 5 to 10 minutes.Missed DosesGive the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.Side EffectsSide effects may include sensitivity to bright light or sunlight, burning & irritation after application, temporary decrease in tear production, excessive salivation, and possible hypersensitivity. Notify your veterinarian if side effects appear and remain troublesome.Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.Drug & Food InteractionsEnsure your veterinarian is aware of all medications and supplements you are giving to your pet prior to use of this medication, including but not limited to other eye drops and/or eye medications. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your animal more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your animal experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.CautionsDo NOT use in patients with primary glaucoma or in dogs with predisposition to developing glaucoma. May rarely induce colic in horses if systemically absorbed.This medication does not have an FDA approved indication for use in animals, but it is a common and acceptable practice for veterinarians to prescribe this human medication for use in animals. Do not use if solution has changed color or appearance.Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention.
